ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
pH Reducer
-
How much do I use compared to Muriatic acid or dry
acid? The amount of acid needed to adjust the pH or the total
alkalinity is based on several parameters. Much less acid would be
used if the total alkalinity were low as compared to if the total
alkalinity were high. To determine the proper amount of pH Reducer
to add, do an acid demand test and use the same quantity of ph
Reducer as the amount of recommended dry acid.
-
How long will it last? Typically, pH Reducer will last
longer because it is adding buffers to the water as it changes the
pH.
-
Why should I use pH Reducer with my Salt Chlorine
Generator? Salt Chlorine Generators utilize metal plates called
electrodes. Muriatic and sulfuric acids can corrode these plates.
The acids used in pH Reducer will not harm these plates. The life
of your Salt Chlorine Generator can be extended by three to for
times using pH Reducer.
pH Booster
-
What are organic salts used in pH Booster? When acids
and alkalis react in water salts are formed. These salts sometimes
carry with them properties of the acids they came from. Our salts
in pH Booster continue the clarifying and sequestering properties of
pH Reducer. Your water will be cleaner and clearer while using pH
Booster instead of other pH elevating products.
-
How do I know how much to use? Like other pH
increasing products, take pH reading and then an alkali or base
demand test. Use the amount of product recommended by your test
kit.
Pool Clarifier
-
Is Pool Clarifier necessary? Yes, there will always
be a time when extra help is needed to keep water clear and clean.
Pool Clarifier should be added when you see small fiber appearing
material around the light in your pool. Filters remove microscopic
material from the water and Pool Clarifier helps them remove even
smaller material that makes the water appear hazy.
-
How do clarifiers work? Pool Clarifier is a cationic
charged polymer which pulls dirt and organic debris together into
larger pieces so filters can more easily remove them.
Stain & Scale
Sequester
-
Should Stain & Scale Sequester be added to my pool
even if no metals show up in testing. Yes, Stain & Scale Sequester
is a prevention product. Metals can be introduced from lawn
chemicals, wash from water runoff, and even from toys left in the
pool. Without Stain & Scale Sequester in the pool, it would become
stained and require very expensive cleaning and down time.
-
How can I keep my pool from staining when I fill the
pool? Many source waters form ground as well as municipal water
treatment plants contain metals and sometimes high levels of
calcium. If this is your case, adding a small amount of Stain &
Scale Sequester on a weekly basis may be necessary. Three ounces of
Stain & Scale Sequester weekly per 10,000 gallons will maintain the
proper level in your pool.
Tile Cleaner
-
Can I use soft scrub type cleaners on my tile? No!
No! No! Household type cleaner are to be used and rinsed down the
sink. Tile Cleaner does three cleaning steps. One, it removes the
natural evaporative scale build up on the pool surface. Two, it
contains a natural solvent to dissolve the greases and oils. Three,
it contains surfactants to float the material away so it can be
filtered out and safely removed during the cleaning of the filter.
-
Why is your Tile Cleaner so thick? The parable “Want
not, Waste not” works here. Tile Cleaner sticks to your tile brush
or pad, it stays where is needed to clean and less is needed to
clean your tile. This saves you time, effort and money.
Water Enhancer
-
My pool is clean and clear, should I use Water
Enhancer? Water Enhancer is a chemical used to clarify your pool
water, buffer your pH and restore the new luster to your pool. If
you desire sparkling luxurious water, use Water Enhancer. Once
you’ve used it, you’ll be showing your pool to all your neighbors.
-
Do I add Water Enhancer weekly to the pool? No, Water
Enhancer is non-evaporative and therefore stays in the water. Water
Enhancer is added only each spring with the pool start up chemicals.
